After a hike through the Naugatuck State Forest, a walk through town shows off the area's industrial past. The Depot Street Bridge in Beacon Falls CT, leading to what was the Beacon Falls Rubber Shoe Company - makers of "Husky Shoes for Rough Work".

Love the green of that metal. In pretty good condition for being built in 1935!
ReplyDeleteThe bridge was showing its age until a rehab earlier this year. I found this photo from 2009.
ReplyDeleteThey built 'em good and strong in those days. And its a great green, like Max said. Even before it was painted it looked in good nick!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! :)
ReplyDeleteRiveting photos is the way I would describe them. Enough to make you go green with envy.
ReplyDeletevery colorful! never seen a bridge that shade of green...
ReplyDeleteI like the green of this.
ReplyDeleteThe link to the bridge in its previous state made this pic doubly interesting. I really like that colour!
ReplyDeleteI think they had to pick a bright green that would stand out among the trees that line the river and roadside - who wants a disappearing bridge? And Bob - have you no shame?
ReplyDeleteLove the old bridges! Love the vertical lines of the bridge with the building.
ReplyDeleteThat’s a very ‘in your face’ shot of metal and ...I have to concur - it’s very green!
ReplyDeletebrilliant......can feel the strength from here....
