Bridgework

After a hike through the Naugatuck State Forest, a walk through town shows off the area's industrial past.  The Depot Street Bridge in Beacon Falls CT, leading to what was the Beacon Falls Rubber Shoe Company - makers of "Husky Shoes for Rough Work".

  1. Love the green of that metal. In pretty good condition for being built in 1935!

  2. The bridge was showing its age until a rehab earlier this year. I found this photo from 2009.

  3. They built 'em good and strong in those days. And its a great green, like Max said. Even before it was painted it looked in good nick!

  4. Riveting photos is the way I would describe them. Enough to make you go green with envy.

  7. I think they had to pick a bright green that would stand out among the trees that line the river and roadside - who wants a disappearing bridge? And Bob - have you no shame?
