Marmot On Mt Evans

Marmot On Mt Evans by jim.colleran

In a recently declassified photo from the Apollo 17 lunar landing, speculation about life on the moon...

No - that's not it.  Let's try this,

Hollywood is abuzz about leaked stills from the new movie "Gophers in Spaacce"...

13,000 feet on Mount Evans, well above treeline, the ground is rocks and sand with very little growing or moving.  At least until this guy shot across the trail.  A marmot - bigger than a squirrel, smaller than a ground hog - named after an outdoor clothing company (or maybe it's the other way around?)

  2. He sure is cute to me as well. Probably not very friendly, but what a fantastic shot you got!

    1. I guess they are cute - social anyway. This one dove into a burrow, then came out onto the rocks watching us. Until we got too close, then back to the burrow, then back out watching...

  3. In the immortal words of Jean Paul Sartre, 'Au revoir, gopher'.

Where's Carl Spackler when you need him?
