Painting Kenosha Pass, a photo by jim.colleran on Flickr.
Autumn at Kenosha Pass - Aspen trees turning a golden yellow against the green pine forest. No surprise someone was out trying to capture it on canvas.

    1. I had to go back to the original and blow it up - there's an old railroad spur track there. The green square is a sign at the track turnoff. Good eye - I looked at the photo and said "what square green object??"

  2. Had occasion to think of you yesterday ... I came upon a young woman who was stopped at the Yellow/Red Circle with the map out ... as we chatted, she said she had just moved from Colorado. She explained how disorienting it was to hike with so many trees hiding the sky ... "In the mountains you're hiking above the tree line and can always see where you are going." The other thing that amazed her was the variety of color of the leaves. "In Colorado, the aspens turn yellow and the contrast with pines ... " I thought immediately of this picture you posted. :-) Hope all is well. We always think of you when the chain saw comes out ... and other times as well. Cheers!
